VION Foodservice sponsors university award

VION UK’s Foodservice business recently sponsored Sheffield Hallam University’s International Marketing Award, which was presented at the university’s graduation and awards ceremony in December last year.

Having worked with Sheffield Business School - affiliated to the university – VION welcomed the opportunity to sponsor the award. The two worthy winners, Debra Gibbons and Linton Broadly–Stace, were presented with their award by Ian Anderson (VION Foodservice Commercial Director).

On making the presentation Ian commented: “VION was delighted to sponsor this award, and to assist in developing the managers of the future.”
Both Debra and Linton were also provided with the opportunity of spending a day with the VION team, gaining valuable experience and insight into how the business operates.

John Sorsby, Senior Lecturer for Sheffield Hallam’s Business Studies Department said: “The University is extremely pleased to have this support from a major UK business such as VION, and it helps build and support the ongoing relationship between industry and education. We are extremely grateful to Andy Deutsch (Managing Director VION Foodservice) for making the commitment and the ongoing support shown to the University.”

VION Food Group Ltd, the UK arm of VION N.V., produces and processes high quality beef, lamb, pork, bacon and chicken as well as a wide range of convenience products such as sausages, cooked meats and added value cooked chicken. The UK operation has extensive facilities across the UK from farms and hatcheries to primary production, processing and packing, and supplies products according to customer and market demands. The business is primarily focused on the UK retail market but also includes a specialist foodservice division within its portfolio.
